Next week I’ll start with the individual club scouting reports, and many of the Under 23 players that will get full scouting reports in those team reports - see Dortmund, Borussia like all of them. Jude, Gio, Erling and Gregor aren’t getting full scouting reports here, both Halaand and Kobel were already scouted and will get more coverage as we get closer to card release, and a few others I’ll call out below.

At time of writing there have been seven matches played by every Bundesliga team and the thresholds we’re using for inclusion in a scouting report are five starts, seven appearances or 300 minutes of action. That doesn’t mean Leverkusen’s 21 year old Paulinho isn’t valuable and worth a follow, he is, but with his six appearances, three starts, and 244’ his SO5 potential is currently limited and the risk of a 25pt outing or DNP remains high. To that point his last five are two DNPs, two >31pt appearances and a tidy 72 (an assist for the Decisive against Celtic). Am I following him? I am, but I’m also not diving in too quickly on a kid with five total league starts since joining Leverkusen in 2018-19 as an 18 year old.

The Follow List for each of the outfield position will list the players who meet that threshold who aren’t otherwise discussed in the article AND who are not in their last year of U23 eligibility; all links go to the players ‘Card’ page on Sorare.

The Goalkeepers

As noted in the below post, there are only two U23 goalkeepers who’ve made an appearance so far this season.

We’re starting the Bundesliga release preview by scouting the goalkeepers. This isn’t the first Bundesliga scouting report; way back on 4 September Bayer Leverkusen got the club treatment, and any number of Bayern Munich players have been covered in Fair Warning, but it is the first time we’ve tackled the full slate of shot-stoppers in Germany’s top fli…

I mean I’d be happy to land either of them at the right price, but the prices they’ll fetch will likely be outside my price range. Glancing back at last season there are a couple names to add to your watch list in case they should get cards.

The first is 19 year old Elias Bördner, who plays for 3. Liga club Viktoria Köln, on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt. He made one league start in 2020-21 for his parent club, making five saves and allowing just one goal in a 3-1 win over Freiburg. He did play in the U19 Bundesliga, but it’s the willingness of the senior side to hand him the start that lands him here.
