I’m going to spend some time today on a special project that was inspired by this tweet from @SorareJapan (who is well worth a follow). With the release of 15/20 Turkish Süper Lig clubs last Friday, there are plenty of new names hitting the market who have primary utility as discount options to play a Global All Star D4/Rare tournament you push to hit the ETH thresholds. Then Fenerbahçe got the 2021-22 release earlier today.
A quick reminder that J League, K League and Major League Soccer are already finished or nearly finished, while the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A is wrapping up in a months time. That means there are fewer low-cost options populating the New Card market. Thanks to this easy to reference chart from @Sorare_Portugal it’s easy to see that Challenger cards present a discounted option for competing in the Global tournaments at both the GAS and U23 level.
For quick reference here is the full chart without having to click thru:
So we know that Challenger is drastically less expensive that Champion if you’re only looking to build a GAS or U23 squad. For today’s article (below the jump) I’m going to build a low-cost SO5 exclusively from the TSL with a two names and an alternate (or two) at each of the four positions so that you can build a side that hits 205/250 with consistency. Why the TSL? Because that league doesn’t have an extended winter break - there is a break from December 27 to January 8 - and there is precious little Sorare scouting available outside of these digital pages.
