We’re straight into the scouting today with the third club to hit Sorare within a week (following the additions of Peruvian side Club Cienciano and fellow Argentine squad Argentinos Juniors).
River Plate has an exceptional history that is well known; it’s hard to win 37 titles without acquiring an international following! They’re currently in Group A of Argentina’s Primera División, two points behind leaders Racing Club (they may well be top by the time you’re reading this as they travel to Banfield over the holiday weekend). River Plate also play in Copa Libertadores and are top of their group following 1-0 and 2-0 wins over Alianza Lima and Fortaleza.
Top we’ll start at the front and work our way back and no one better to start with the kid who led the team in scoring last season with 18, and is off to a solid start this season as well.
Julián Álvarez, F (age 21)
Soreare U23 eligible until June 2024, Álvarez isn’t just good. He’s elite.
That scoring from a player at his age is exceptionally valuable and equally costly. His current Rare 3DA 1.199 Ξ is barely impacted by the closing price of 1/100 2022 (1.331 Ξ) which was lower than two of his most recent private sales prior to the 2022 release. His scoring isn’t simply driven by Decisive actions - he has plenty including 26 goals, nine assists and a penalty won in his last year of Sorare-scored action. Oh, he’s also a Manchester City player and reportedly heading to England this summer. That hurts his immediate SO5 potential, but boosts his long-term ROI. Did I mention he’s closing in on 10 caps with Argentina? Haven’t handed one of these out in a while but his card easily earns The Bueller.
